Project.....
Extension, Lincolnshire
The
house, had undergone previous alterations using inappropriate materials. The
accommodation provided by the existing extensions where inadequate
for a growing family. Furthermore they were poorly constructed. The
intention was to re-order the kitchen and 'family side' of house,
including the back entrance, as this was the main day-to-day entrance. The
form of the extensions was taken from the detailing of the existing
Georgian building, natural stone was used for the exterior walling
and dressings. Windows were single glazed traditional sashes. The
interior of the extension was opened up with high ceilings within
the new kitchen, the existing kitchen was fitted out as a
utility, coat and boot room.
Further
alterations took place internally to provide a second floor bathroom
and make use of the existing bedroom accommodation on the second
floor.
